Yep, you read that right. I’m Jess Campbell, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), a therapist AND a farmer. I genuinely understand your struggles and challenges because I go through them, too. I’m a therapist for individual farmers, farm couples, members of farm families, and for people working in the Canadian agriculture industry.
Person-centred therapy means you talk about what YOU want to talk about, whenever you want to talk about it. I’ll listen empathically, ask questions, and take you to the places you need to go to heal at the pace you feel comfortable getting there.
No time to drive into town for a therapy session? No worries. My practice is 100% virtual, meaning I can meet when it works FOR YOU: from inside the truck or tractor cab, when you’re in for lunch, or in the evening once chores are done.
As a third generation farmer, I understand the demands of 21st century farming. I know the stress of a tough season or frayed relationships. With that said, you should know I will never ask you to talk about things you don’t want to talk about and can still facilitate healing.
Farming is a lifestyle that requires sacrifice—but you don’t need to sacrifice your mental health to be a “good” farmer. I’m a farmer too, so I genuinely understand the stress that comes with producing food for the masses. As a certified Agriculturally Informed Therapist, I also know how to help you without suggesting you take time off work. (but wouldn’t that be nice?)
